Peek Inside My Travel Makeup Bag

As you all know, I adore makeup. Putting my makeup on to start my day off is something that I look forward to every night. And of course, being away from home when I travel means being away from makeup my collection as well… But even that doesn’t stop me cause I make sure I always bring enough makeup wherever I go. As my real life friends like to trawl through my makeup bag, I thought you might like to too.

First thing first, primer. I always apply primer before anything else. The main reason is because I have very oily skin and I need something that could help my foundation or concealer stick to my skin and last a whole day. When travelling, I always brought a travel-sized primer just cause I don’t want it to take more space than it actually needs to, the one I’m using currently is the Benefit POREfessional. This one isn’t my favorite piece but it’s not bad at all. A lot of people raved about it, but honestly, It’s on the “okay” side if you know what I mean. Even though It is really smooth but it doesn’t control my oil and I don’t see much difference to my pores either, which is what it’s attended to do.

As far as foundations go, I have been carrying the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation shade no. 7. I’d say it’s a medium to full coverage foundation, it feels weightless on the skin, and it doesn’t make my face look like an oily mess after a long day. I don’t wear foundations in my day-to-day makeups; in place I usually use concealers instead. For Concealers, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger. Hands down. Perfection. It has a peachy undertone that helps cover my dark under eye and also its great to cover my acne scars too. Sometimes I top it off with my Mac Studio Fix to give me a little more coverage. But on a daily basis, the nars concealer is pretty much enough.

To put on all that, I always use a Beauty Blender. Its something that I truly cant live without and if I can give you any tips at all, always clean the beauty blender after using it because coming from experience, it makes it last longer and the makeup left over wont stained.

For the cheeks, I always want to bring something that already has its own brush in the packaging. I don’t know if its just me, but I just don’t like to bring a bunch of brushes when I travel. That’s why the Hoola Bronzer by Benefit is a perfect match! The color suits almost every skin tone and the texture is so soft and easy to blend. For Blush, I am currently loving this Chanel Malice (71) Joues Contraste Powder BlushIt’s a peachy pink color that suits all looks that Im going for.  And as for highlighter, I dont have one with its own brush, so I just pick this Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighter in So Hollywood and brought the brush that I got when I bought this one.

For my eyebrows, I am currently loving this eye brow sculpt automatic pencil from KIKO Milano. I use the color blackhaired and it is such a great color if you like black/dark greyish eyebrow instead of brown. It has an angled tip that glides easily and leaves a natural color. And it comes with a spoolie!. It’s a pretty great dupe for the Anastasia Beverly hills brows sculpt. After the brows sculpt, I use the Brow Gel from Anastasia Beverly Hills to keep my brow hair in place. Other than the two mentioned eyebrow product, I also carry around my tweezers with me just in case I need to plug brow hairs out.

As for eye shadows, I keep it very simple, because on a daily basis I don’t usually use eye shadows. Even if I want to I usually just go with a natural look or a simple smoky eye, so this Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Pallete in Fallen Angel is a great one to travel with. Its small, it has all the color I need, and I love the consistency of its shadows. Before shadows, I always put on my holy grail, Pur Minerals eye primer to make my shadows last. I have the oiliest eyelids, and almost all eye primers out there don’t keep my shadows on, except this one. So this one is a must have!

Last but not certainly not least, Lashes. Of course I brought my Shu Eumura Eyelash Curler. And for mascara, I am currently loving this Japanese product, Heroine Make Volume & Curl Mascara Super Waterproof in the color Black. This mascara is one of those mascara that is REALLY REALLY waterproof. Never once have I came out with panda-eye when using this mascara. JUST TRY IT FIRST AND THANK ME LATER. (For Indonesians, you can get this at Watson!)

Choosing what lip colors to bring is always the hardest part for me to do. I sometimes end up bringing too much lipstick cause I can’t decide, really. But at the moment, there are only four lipsticks in my makeup bag and these four are my safe colors. Mac Velvet Teddy, a peachy pink nude (that i think looks great with a smokey eyes). MAC Whirl, a medium-dark rosey brown. Tom ford in Crimson Noir, a classic pinkish red. And my everyday color, Charlotte Tilbury in Stoned Rose which is a warm coral rose color.

Till next time,
