DIY Yogurt Mask Recipes

Masks are my guilty pleasure. It’s something that i always incorporate in my skin care routine over the years. I use a mask around 3 times a week and I alternate between different types of masks, depending on the current state of my skin or just what kind of mask I have or feel like using at the moment.

As you all know, big brands are coming out with so many kinds of mask that are AMAZING. Even so, I still cant get over my obsession for a diy beauty remedies. In my opinion, there’s just nothing like making my own mask. 

There are so many amazing ingredients for our skin that are easily accessible to us nowadays. One of the most common ingredients that is used frequently in diy mask recipes is yogurt. Yogurt contains many powerful nutrients that promotes healthy skin. It helps relieves acne, moisturizes the skin, facilitates skin renewal, prevents aging, and many more. I don’t know if it really does all that, but one thing for sure is that everytime I use yogurt for my skin, it felt amazing!

So today i’m going to share my two favorite yogurt mask recipes that I often use over the years! It’s very easy to make and you can easily find the ingredients in your kitchen. 

 

1. Yogurt, Honey, & Cucumber Mask

This mask is super moisturizing and will leave your skin feeling very refreshed and glowy! The cucumber has some sort of cooling sensation (even more if you use it when its cold) and the honey is a skin softener that contains anti-bacterial properties that fights acne. Such a great mask to prep your face before makeup! 

Ingredients: 

1 tbsp of plain yogurt 

½ cucumber 

1 tsp of honey

Directions: Puree all of the ingredients in a blender. Apply it on your face and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. Although, if you’re like me and sometimes get too lazy to use a blender, just chop the cucumber in a little pieces then mix them together with the other ingredients then mash it with a spoon to where the liquid comes out of it. It might not stay on as well, but as long as you lay down when you apply it, the chunks of the cucumber wont fall off. 

 

2. Yogurt, Honey, Lemon, and Cinnamon Mask. 

This mask will give you an instant radiance! The cinnamon causes a tingling sensation to the skin, but from what I’ve read, it just means that it’s bringing oxygen-rich blood to the surface of the skin and giving you a healthy glow! If it’s a little red at first, don’t worry! It will fade in a couple of minutes!

Ingredients:

1 tbsp of plain yogurt

1 tsp of honey

1 tsp of lemon juice

1 pinch of cinnamon 

Directions: Blend the ingredients all together. Leave on your face for 15 minutes then rinse with warm water.
